Since we started in 2015, we've loved this vision of the City of God from Isaiah 60—a place where the light of Jesus draws many people from many different cultures & backgrounds to make one family.

At City of Light, we long to become more & more like this heavenly city. We want to be people captivated & cultivated by the light of Jesus rising over us like a sunrise—the new day that brings healing to our hearts, our homes, our city, & each other.

No matter where you're coming from or what you're going through—you can find a new day in Jesus & discover a place & a part in his family.

Peace,
Father Trevor & Pastor Bonnie McMaken

OUR 5 CULTURES AT CITY OF LIGHT
In other words, our values, our heartbeat, what we're all about.
These cultures capture both who we already are & who we feel God wants us to become even more as we follow his leading:
OUR STORY
Jesus said to his followers, "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden."
It was this vision that ultimately drew our plant team to Aurora, nicknamed “The City of Lights,” where the Lord was already moving in hearts and churches throughout the city.
Since we launched in 2015, we've grown in leaders, households, and ministry to one another and in our city. But our heart has remained the same: to be a family of neighbors, nations, and generation finding a new day in Jesus.
